In David Lindsay-Abaire hilarious play, Ripcord, we get to know Abby and Marilyn, two ladies assigned to the same room in a senior living facility. Abby wants peace and quiet, and Marilyn just wants the bed by the window. Marilyn and Abby begin a campaign of one-upping the other, trying to win the bet, with aides and family members getting pulled into the shenanigans as the story progresses. In the end, we all get to see a play with a lot of heart, and a lot of laughs.

In David Lindsay-Abaire hilarious play, Ripcord, we get to know Abby and Marilyn, two ladies assigned to the same room in a senior living facility. Auditions will consist of readings from the script and a couple of fun and easy improv games.
The director is looking to see how well the cast can meld and play off of each other.
CAST REQUIREMENTS:
3 female presenting actors passing for age 40-ish up to 80ish
3 male presenting actors passing for age 20ish to 40ish
ABBY BINDER: Female appearing to be in her 70’s-80’s.
Abby is crotchety, stubborn, and as sharp with her tongue as she is with her perceptions.
MARILYN DUNNE: Female appearing to be in her 70’s-80’s.
Marilyn is cheerful, adventurous, and determined to make the best of any bad situation
SCOTTY: Male appearing to be in his 20’s or 30’s.
Scotty is an aide at the home where Abby and Marilyn live and is wise to most of their shenanigans. He cares for the residents and has a wonderful way of relating to and with them.
BENJAMIN BINDER: Male appearing to be in his 40’s.
Benjamin is Abby’s estranged son, recovering drug addict, trying his best with where he’s at in recovery. The actor for this role will also play the roles of LEWIS, a sky-diving instructor, and CLOWN, a character in a haunted house
COLLEEN: Female appearing to be her 40’s. Colleen is Marilyn’s daughter and is both protective and supportive of her mother. The actor for this role will also play the role of WOMAN IN WHITE, a character in a haunted house.
DEREK: Male appearing to be in his 40’s.
Derek is Colleen’s husband. He strives to please the women around him, no matter how uncomfortable he gets in the process. The actor for this role will also play the role of ZOMBIE BUTLER, a character in a haunted house.
