Meet the Cast

Matt Sameck
Pastor Paul

Matt has appeared in Bell Road’s productions of Silent Sky, Ripcord, and The Foreigner; Corbin Theatre’s Suite Surrender; and Kansas City Actors Theatre’s reading of Any Questions?.

He was an improv company member at Comedy City for over 10 years & has appeared in two Tech N9ne music videos.

His theatrical highlights include Deathtrap with Pacifica Spindrift Players (Pacifica, CA), The Miss Firecracker Contest with PTD Productions (Ypsilanti, MI), and other productions in the San Francisco Bay area.

He’s eternally grateful to his wife, son and parents for their support.

Brian Duskey
Joshua

Brian is feeling particularly vibrant about being involved in this latest production at Bell Road.

While he has never acted here before, he previously directed the 2022 production of The Comedy of Errors and developed many great relationships with the people here.
With a background in screenwriting and Shakespeare performance, he is an experienced actor, writer, and director in town.

He also runs a small production company in Kansas City, titled Ghost Theatre.

You can see an original play of his in July at the KC Fringe Festival, titled Telling Audrey — featuring many actors who have graced the Bell Road stage as well.

Kevan Myers
Elder Jay

Getting his Theatre degree from KU, he appeared in many productions including Romeo and Juliet, a world premiere starring George Dzundza, and You Can’t Take It with You starring Pat Hingle.

In the 1980s, he did Busybody with Billie Bird at Tiffany’s Attic and plays with Actor’s Ensemble. After a 25-year hiatus, he has appeared at White Theatre JCCC, Just Off Broadway, City Theatre Independence, Metropolitan Ensemble and Barn Players.

The Christians is his third Bell Road Barn show.

Financial Advisor.  Married to Shannon. Father to Collin and Camron. Grandad to Brett and Sloane.

Ivy Byers
Jenny

Ivy is incredibly excited to make her debut performance with the Bell Road Barn Players.

She is a Junior at UMKC and a member of their Student Film Association and German Club.

Ivy would like to thank her friends and family for always believing in and supporting her.

She hopes you enjoy the show.

Kim Hentges
Elizabeth

Kim is thrilled to return to the stage at Bell Road.
With a rich history of performances in KC shows like Silent Sky, The Bad Seed, Boeing Boeing, Steel Magnolias, Proof, and The 39 Steps, she embraces this opportunity to inspire and connect.
She thanks her talented husband, Matt, and their two incredible children for their unwavering love and support.
