Vicki Kerns- (Clemma Diggins) has been involved with community theatre for over 30 years, both performing and behind the scenes, and is thrilled to be on stage again for the Bell Road Barn Players. Last season, Vicki portrayed Mrs. Kirby in "You Can't Take It With You" and can be see this fall at the Kansas City Renaissance Festival in the stage show, MentalPause: Hot Flash Wenches. Off stage, Vicki divides her time between her family, Kandi and Alex, and her three loves, her Basset Hounds, Cleo, Quincy, and Mugsy. Thanks, Tiff!
Brandon Stevens- (Burt Hines) Proposals is Brandon’s first show with the Bell Road Barn Players. After receiving his undergraduate degree in theatre from the University of Saint Mary in 2008, he has toured nationally in children’s theatre shows playing roles such as Tom Sawyer. He is delighted to be acting in the KC area and more excited for the other two shows throughout this summer. Thanks to the audience for supporting the arts!
Jennifer Coville-Schweigert- (Josie Hines) is extremely excited to be back with the Bell Road Barn Players this summer! Jennifer is originally born in New York, but has lived in the Kansas City area long enough to call it home. She will always be a New York Giants fan though! She has done numerous productions in and around the Kansas City Area, including many commercials and independent films. Her most notable roles include “Audrey” in LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, “Adelaide” in GUYS AND DOLLS, “Rizzo” in GREASE, “Mimi” in RENT, “Callie” in STOP KISS, “Annie Oakley” in ANNIE GET YOUR GUN, “Martha” in THE CHILDREN’S HOUR, “Sheila” in THE BOYS NEXT DOOR , “Velma Kelly” in CHICAGO, “Lucy” in YOU’RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN, and you may have seen her last year on this very stage as “Clea” in BLACK COMEDY . Coming up next for Jennifer will be Marvin’s Room where she will be playing “Bessie”. She would like to thank her ever supporting family, her loving wife, and everyone for continuing to support the arts!
Corbin Hernandez - (Vinnie Bavasi) is very excited to be on stage for the first time in a Bell Road Barn Players production. He's been seen in productions in the City Theater of Independence, Theater Atchison, and She&Her Productions. His favorite roles include Rudy in "The Last Mass at St. Casimir's", the title role in "Macbeth", and Cupid and Comet in "The 8: Reindeer Monologues". He'll soon be hitting the stage as Berowne in the She&Her Production of "Love's Labour's Lost". He wants to thank the theater and everyone in the production for an amazing time and all his friends, family and mentors for their love and support!
Donovan Kidd- (Ray) is thrilled to be making his Kansas City acting debut with the Bell Road Barn! He is a fairly recent resident in these parts but by no means a stranger to the Midwest. He received his BFA in Theatre Performance at the University of Evansville in Evansville, IN. Credits include Matt Galloway (Laramie Project), Steve Tyler (Courtship & Valentine's Day), Prince Hal (Henry VI) and the Beast (Beauty and the...). Thanks to Tiffany for taking the chance and "putting up with me". And a special thank you to his Alison Ward for being the moon in his sky.
Jessica Kennon - (Sammii) recently performed in "Chicago" at Union Station featuring Sally Struthers. She would like to thank all of her friends and family that have always supported her insatiable theater habit. This will be Jessica’s first production with the Bell Road Barn Players and She&Her Productions and has had a blast working with such a fun cast. She would like to personally thank everyone for coming out to see it and hopes you enjoy the show!
Dennis Maddux- (Burt) is excited to be making his debut on the Bell Road Barn Players stage. He recently moved to KC from Council Bluffs, IA, where he taught English, Speech and Drama.for 36 years. He currently is employed at Barnes and Noble in Zona Rosa. While in Omaha, Dennis appeared in 35 community theatre productions at 8 different venues. His favorite roles include Henry Higgins, Otto Frank, Juror #3, Mayor Shinn, and Fagin. Please come back in July to this theatre where he will be appeaaring as Dr. Chumley in Harvey. Carla Scovill- (Annie) began with BRB in 1978. Recent Barn roles include “Bananas” in THE HOUSE OF BLUE LEAVES and “Mrs. Gibbs” in the 50th Anniversary production of OUR TOWN. Carla has taught Theatre, Film, and English at Lansing High School since 1980. She holds a BSed in Theatre and an MA in English.
David Clarr - (Lewis Barnet) is returning to the Barn in the role of Lewis Barnett. He says it has been an interesting and challenging role. You may remember him in the role of Colonel Melkitt in Black Comedy last season (wow, two roles that end in “tt.” Weird.) Recently he joined the Bell Road Barn Board of Directors. Another interesting and challenging role to say the least.
Tiffany Garrison-Schweigert - (Director) is super excited to be back another summer with the Bell Road Barn Players and this fantastic cast. Tiffany received her BA in Theatre Education at Emporia State University. She is very blessed to be able to fulfill a long time dream by creating She&Her Productions with her beautiful and talented Wife. Upcoming directing projects include: The Last Five Years at The Barn Players in Mission August of 2011 and Urinetown The Musical with She&Her in October. Other Directing and Designing credits: The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, The Last Mass at St. Casimirs, The Shape of Things, Black Comedy, STOP KISS, Songs for A New World, Bye Bye Birdie, You're A Good Man Charlie Brown, Cinderella, Music Man, Miss Firecracker Contest. Some favorite acting credits; RENT, Joanne; A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Vibrata; Honk!, Cast; Leader of the Pack, Cast; Footloose, Urleen; Our Town, Mrs. Webb. A special thanks to her family for all of their support through the years. And of course to her wife Jennifer for her love and faith.
